The Attack Illiteracy (AI) will focus on establishing and promoting programs to address illiteracy in our communities. Encourage all volunteers to participate in implementing best practices in the community to show measurable outcomes through literacy initiatives.
Purple Hands will partner with local agencies and public school’s systems to mentor students in served communities
Key Program Goals are:
Build foundational relationships with BBBS Agencies in the central Carolinas and local Public School Board of Education to increase mentorship.
Encourage volunteers to utilize their work community service hours to mentor kids during school hours.
Provide seminars on wealth accumulation, tax minimization, retirement strategies and other topics that significantly impact financial stability.
Select High School Seniors whose grade point average and scholarship applications are noteworthy to receive a scholarship to their committed college or university.
Increase health awareness with students and adults in the community. Change the attitude of members and the community toward preventive health care and encourage them to put health at the top of their daily agenda.
Initiative to address the critical challenge of father absenteeism in the lives of children, families, and the nation’s communities. We will focus on the importance of mentoring the next generation of young men and fathers.
The key Mission is to:
Close the gap on father absence; promoting fatherhood, highlighting the necessity of mentoring and the importance of fathers playing an active, responsible role in the lives of their children.
Objectives include encouraging volunteer engagement in Fatherhood/Mentoring activities, develop and deploy reporting mechanisms to acknowledge effectiveness.
Engage resources to assist with providing resolutions to issues and concerns of active, reserve, and prior military members.
Purple Hands volunteers and resources will offer guidance, support, and service to uplift our members and their families.
